Lastovo

Island of Lastovo will especially delight adventurous souls. Due to the fact that until recently there was a military base and tourism was lacking, many historic buildings were preserved at this site.  

The presence of the Romans is evidenced by remnants of rural villas. At the cemetery there is a Romanesque house of prayer of Virgin Mary, and further in the field Church of St. Blasius built in 12th century. The construction of the upper town and fortress is visibly influenced by Dubrovnik. Fort was rebuilt in the 19th century on the foundations of the castle ruined in the 17th century.

The island attracts tourists with beautiful countryside with small beaches as well as with underwater reservation.
